Beautiful Insides

I was young, so was my heart
Before, it was never more than a body part
A vital organ that kept me going
Made sure I always kept it from showing

Held in my feelings, I kept my composure
Avoided being vulnerable
Then came her, my heart's exposure
Released when it became unbearable

Love bloomed
It zoomed
I was all alone in my room
Til' I cleaned the debris with a broom

In the depths of hearts exists absolute beauty
To find it, you must make it your duty
When broken your chance increases
So look for the diamond in between the pieces

Then drops you through goodbyes

Thinking it's all we need when it's new
But what happens when it's done?

Became numb in my soul
Hopelessly senseless

Colours

Feels great, but sometimes shines too bright
Dominantly overtakes everything else in sight
Left with just one colour, beautiful for sure
But was it worth all my effort to focus on just her?

The leftovers moved to my blind spot
I didn't even ask myself why
Or if it was on purpose, was it not?
Guess I decided to use just one dye

Unfortunately it ran out
I squeezed everything I could
To the ends I fought in a bout
To discard it, I knew I should

Looked around for a while with the lights off
In a room I didn't recognize as home
I opened the exit door and stepped outside
And saw a green field with a rainbow

The beautiful colours overwhelm my senses
So vivid, I now have a spectrum before me
I'm so glad I've learned through many lessons
How mixed reds, yellows, and blues shine equally

Inner Demons

Inner demons tamper with trust
Self-control, self-combusts
Words said with an unclean soul
Heart becomes black as coal

They instigate out of the blue
And there's absolutely nothing you can do
They tear you up deep down inside
Causes dynamic emotions to collide

Exhaust the mind to a point of distress
Makes it impossible for one to confess
Everything that's been bottled for a while
They hide the reasons for you to truly smile

They develop through a course of time
From the depths they lurk, their mission to climb
To the top where the whole world can see
Just how horrible, and deceiving one can be

These inner demons must be kept constrained
If not, one's life will slowly be drained
If so, one's life will be changed

...for the better.
